Deputy Alexandru Muraru, president of PNL Iași, publicly criticized Nicușor Dan, the president of PNL, for his optimistic statements regarding justice in Romania.
Muraru emphasized that, despite Nicușor Dan's praises, recent reports from the European Commission and the Justice Court highlight serious problems in the Romanian judicial system, including abuses and political interference. He mentioned that, following the dissolution of the Bolojan Committee on Justice, no progress has been made in investigating corruption.
Muraru called on Dan to explain the change of opinion on justice over the past year and highlighted the lack of concrete actions in reforming the system. His criticisms also included observations about how judges increase their salaries through court rulings, as well as unfulfilled promises regarding a referendum on justice issues.
Muraru concluded by warning that European justice could become optional for some judges in Romania.
