PNL Vice President Alexandru Muraru is calling on PSD and AUR to publicly assume responsibility for any potential political collaboration following the consultations on Thursday, September 17, at Cotroceni Palace, convened by President Nicușor Dan to designate the candidate for the position of prime minister.
The Liberal claims, in a Facebook message, that the rapprochement between the two formations is visible in Parliament and challenges leaders Sorin Grindeanu and George Simion to join the government if they have reached an agreement. Muraru criticized a possible PSD-AUR formula, which he described as an “extremist-socialist” alliance.
At the same time, the lawmaker asked President Nicușor Dan to take the PNL’s position into account in the negotiations. The Liberals support, alongside USR and UDMR, Siegfried Mureșan’s candidacy for the position of prime minister and promote the formation of a reformist, pro-European government with full powers.
Alexandru Muraru also mentioned that PNL rules out a return to governing alongside PSD and says it will not support “political experiments,” “non-transparent” negotiated nominations, or an executive dependent on the Social Democrats.
