Marcel Ciolacu said he is resigning as Prime Minister after the PSD's poor result in the first round of the presidential elections. He emphasized that one of the objectives of the governing coalition had not been met, making it no longer legitimate. Ciolacu proposed the PSD's exit from the coalition and said that PSD ministers would remain in office until a new government is formed. He also stressed that he would not support any of the candidates in the 2nd round.
