Marcel Ciolacu, after the mayor of Buzău announced that he will no longer run on behalf of the PSD: "Each of us has periods in life when we are more upset."

Marcel Ciolacu, the president of the Buzău County Council, reacted on Wednesday to the announcement made by mayor Constantin Toma, who stated that he will no longer run on behalf of the PSD for a new term in 2028.

During a press conference, Ciolacu mentioned that everyone goes through difficult moments. Regarding the elections, he emphasized that "the best candidate will win. The people of Buzău will decide."

He also mentioned that, although he had a recent phone conversation with Toma, the subject of the political decision was not addressed. Ciolacu acknowledged the mayor's contribution to the success of the PSD in Buzău, stating that without his involvement, the party's political gains would not have been possible.

Toma explained on Facebook on Tuesday that his decision not to run anymore is the result of some wrong decisions made by the party.
