PSD Buzău President Romeo Lungu criticizes the mayor of Buzău, Constantin Toma, and asks him to focus, for the remainder of his term, on completing the works already started and on the city's current problems.
In a public post made on Saturday, the PSD Buzău leader claims that the local administration talks about investments worth hundreds of millions of euros, although it allegedly lost funding for projects already on the investment list. Lungu lists projects such as the orbital road, estimated at 200 million euros, a new hospital, the Philharmonic, and an airport.
Romeo Lungu says that former Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu intervened for the existing hospital project and asks the mayor what happened to the funding obtained for other investments. Among these, the Social Democrat mentions nearly 80 million euros for the rehabilitation of 30 apartment blocks, nearly two million euros for equipping schools, and 25 million euros through the NRRP for the University Campus.
The swimming pool is also on the list of projects that he claims lost their funding. The criticism comes amid local political disputes regarding the municipal administration's priorities and the status of investments financed from European funds. The Buzău City Hall leadership did not provide a position in the information presented.
