Lia Olguța Vasilescu, the mayor of Craiova, declared that the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) has never been negotiated in Romania and has not been submitted to a vote in Parliament.
She accused the former Minister of European Funds, Cristian Ghinea, of keeping the law secret and negotiating directly in Brussels. Vasilescu characterized the negotiation of the PNRR as "the worst," emphasizing that a law was assumed that would bring 50 million euros but would lead to losses of 770 million if not adopted.
She also criticized the way the milestones for salaries were established, mentioning that the ministries or social partners were not consulted. Vasilescu added that the current government has not discussed plans for the next financial cycle 2028-2034, and the information about sending them to Brussels is unclear. She emphasized the lack of consultation within the governing coalition and with social partners.
