The president of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, stated that there is no viable alternative to the current government formula and warned that a minority government formed by PNL-USR supported by the opposition AUR would be 'catastrophic'. In a press conference in Brâncovenești, Hunor emphasized the importance of maintaining a majority government and expressed hope that the tensions within the coalition will be overcome after the Easter holidays.

He insisted on the necessity of dialogue and reason to find solutions to the governmental crisis, warning that a disorganized approach could lead to failure. His statements come in the context of recent tensions within the governing coalition, especially following disputes related to the ordinance on fuels.

The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, criticized PNL for seeking a rapprochement with AUR, emphasizing that PSD is focused on the important issues for Romanians. Additionally, PSD announced an internal referendum on April 20 to decide its future in government.
