Asked about a possible collaboration between PSD and UDMR, Kelemen Hunor firmly stated that this solution does not exist, emphasizing that "it cannot be done" and "we do not want it." He explained that, since last week, he has communicated that there is no such possibility and that he has not been contacted by PSD to discuss a potential coalition. Kelemen mentioned that UDMR is on the side of the former coalition that was dismissed by PSD-AUR and that it cannot collaborate with those who brought down the government. He also highlighted that AUR represents a "red line" for UDMR, making any formation of a minority coalition with PSD impossible. Kelemen Hunor concluded that he cannot accept such a situation, which would imply dependence on AUR.
"This option does not exist, it cannot be done. We do not want it, it cannot be done. I see that every day someone brings up this idea. Since last week, I have been saying that this solution does not exist, this possibility does not exist, I see that it keeps reappearing. I say today as well, this possibility does not exist. The situation is as follows: we are now on that side of the former coalition that was brought down by PSD and AUR. Logically, I cannot wake up on the other side, with AUR. PSD is not the biggest problem, so this possibility does not exist because that would mean I am alongside those who brought down the Government of which I was a part and still am at this moment. Moreover, for us, there is a red line: AUR. I cannot get past that, I won't even reach the point of discussing PSD's conditions or discussing the formation of a minority coalition. Plus, if there were such a solution, it would mean that you are at the mercy of AUR. It cannot be done, I cannot accept such a thing," Kelemen Hunor stated on Digi 24, Tuesday evening.
