Sorin Grindeanu, the leader of the PSD, stated that he will not accept the debate about changing the direction of governance to turn into a negotiation for ministerial positions. In a Facebook post, he emphasized the need for a change in the functioning of the Government and the Coalition, considering that 80% of Romanians believe that the current direction is wrong. Grindeanu highlighted that one third of Romania's arable land remains uncultivated due to governmental blockages, mentioning that the PSD project 'Cheap Diesel for Agriculture' has been blocked for over a month.
He accused political pride and the inability to collaborate as the main causes of this situation, warning that low and middle-income Romanians will be the most affected by the rising prices of agri-food products. Grindeanu called on the Government to react quickly and effectively, providing concrete solutions to support farmers and avoid a food crisis.
