Sorin Grindeanu, interim president of the PSD, said his party will not accept being blamed for the economic crisis, calling for fair solutions such as progressive taxation.

During the debate on the no-confidence motion, Sorin Grindeanu underlined that PSD will not accept to be held responsible for the mistakes of others and criticized the measures that affect Romanians with low incomes. He proposed progressive taxation as a fair solution to avoid VAT hikes. Grindeanu called for cleaning up the public system and said that reforms must be concrete, not just slogans. In addition, he emphasized the importance of assessing the performance of ANAF and proposed measures to reduce tax evasion and support the Romanian economy.
