President Nicușor Dan announced that designated Prime Minister Eugen Tomac has submitted his mandate, and in his place, the liberal Adrian Veștea has been appointed.

Tomac emphasized that, despite his efforts to find a reasonable compromise for forming a government, he was unable to gather the necessary majority in Parliament. He expressed regret that he did not find the same openness from all parties, but thanked those who agreed to be part of his list of ministers.

"I was sincere, I was honest, I was open to any reasonable compromise that would quickly provide the country with a government. I did not find this attitude from all parties and I regret this", Tomac stated.

Veștea, the newly designated Prime Minister, stated that he assumes responsibility in a time of political crisis and wishes for a government that will implement real reforms. Tomac concluded by expressing hope that the future will bring beneficial solutions for Romania.
