President Nicuşor Dan is convening a new round of consultations with the parliamentary parties on Monday, at Cotroceni Palace, to nominate a candidate for the position of prime minister. According to the Presidential Administration, the discussions will begin at 14:00 and end at 19:00.
Schedule of consultations

The consultations are taking place after Siegfried Mureșan's government failed last week to secure in Parliament the 233 votes required for investiture. Mureșan was the third prime minister-designate in the past five months. The president announced that, at the end of the new round, he would nominate a new candidate, ruling out the possibility of early elections.
Romania has had an interim government for five months, following the dismissal of the Cabinet led by Ilie Bolojan through a no-confidence motion on May 5. Subsequently, the nominations of Eugen Tomac and Adrian Veştea also failed. Under the Constitution, the designated candidate has ten days to ask Parliament for a vote of confidence on the program and the entire list of the Government.
