Eugen Tomac, the designated prime minister, stated on Antena 3 CNN that he is optimistic about securing the support of over 233 members of the Romanian Parliament to form the new Government. He announced that he intends to finalize consultations with all major political actors and establish a calendar for votes, likely at the beginning of next week. Tomac emphasized that he does not have a plan B in case parties like PNL or USR do not support the technical government. He also stated that he will not hold discussions with AUR, considering them to have behavior against the national interest. Tomac mentioned that every vote will be important, but he was not interested in discussing with AUR parliamentarians.

"I am confident that on the day of the vote, over 233 members of the Romanian Parliament will grant us their trust to proceed. I am convinced that I will succeed in convincing over 233 parliamentarians. I wish to conclude consultations with all political actors tomorrow and, obviously, somewhere on Wednesday we will establish the final calendar. But, most likely, at the beginning of next week we will be able to present ourselves before Parliament," Tomac stated.

When asked if he could enter into dialogue with AUR, the designated prime minister replied: "I have no reason to discuss with parties that vote against the national interest of Romania. And here I want to be very clear. I respect the opinion and vote of every Romanian citizen. Everyone is free in this country to vote as they feel. However, I will never accept and I will never understand parties that act against the national interest through concrete gestures. And AUR has exhibited such behavior multiple times. And this issue, obviously, is not negotiable," Eugen Tomac further conveyed.
