The honorary presidential advisor Eugen Tomac accuses PNL of prolonging the political crisis through repeated changes in position regarding participation in the government and argues that the liberal leader Ilie Bolojan should show more flexibility to unblock negotiations.
Tomac believes that PNL's repeated flip-flops are blocking the formation of a parliamentary majority, thus exposing Romania to a negative economic impact.
"The country is blocked precisely because PNL has been in total opposition for a week with everyone and announces that it is leaving the Opposition, a few days later it announces that it is revising its decision," said Eugen Tomac.
He also defended President Nicușor Dan's decision not to make a new prime minister appointment in the absence of a guarantee that the proposal would gain the necessary support in Parliament and called on political parties to abandon electoral calculations and pride.
Tomac further stated that prolonging the deadlock risks affecting economic stability and argued that Ilie Bolojan is the one who needs to take a step towards compromise to unblock negotiations.
