Dominic Fritz, the president of USR, expressed severe criticism regarding the possibility of forming a technocratic government, stating that it could serve as a "screen" for PSD, allowing them to remain in power without assuming the responsibility of governance.

In an intervention on Antena 3 CNN, Fritz emphasized that USR will not support a political Executive led by a technocratic prime minister, demanding clarity regarding the responsibility of decisions in the context of the current political crisis. He pointed out that PSD, which initiated the motion of censure, must take responsibility for the proposed solutions.

Fritz stated that USR will not accept a solution that involves technocrats "taken from the foam of the sea" and reiterated that if PSD wants to govern, it must be transparent regarding the decisions made. In conclusion, he declared that USR will engage in active opposition if PSD remains in power.
