The interim Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu (USR), stated that Sorin Grindeanu, the leader of PSD, is facing a fundamental problem, claiming that he has destroyed the country and does not know how to obtain a majority in Parliament. In an intervention on B1 TV, Buzoianu emphasized that prolonged political instability can lead to the rise of extremist movements. She pointed out that, according to the Constitution, a dismissed government remains interim until a new government with a majority is formed. Buzoianu criticized Grindeanu's efforts to avoid responsibility and called for him to focus on forming a majority instead of complaining about the departure of the government. She also emphasized that Romanians did not vote for instability and that the current political situation risks severely affecting the country's economy. Buzoianu concluded that Romanians would penalize the current political behavior if they had the chance to vote again.
"He has destroyed this country and now has no idea where to get a majority, because he is planning a majority for himself to return together with, of course, his colleagues who were also planning this return on a majority that does not exist, and we told them from the very beginning that this majority does not exist. Now they are all shocked that the majority does not exist, which everyone warned they would not have if the government fell. If Mr. Grindeanu is concerned every day about why the government is not leaving, he should be concerned about channeling that energy to form a majority in Parliament. If he cannot form this majority in Parliament after having overthrown a government, then he should not send, I don't know, his seconds, so to speak, to fight to say that no round of early elections can be organized and accept that we need early elections. It is an absolutely cynical game and I do not believe that Romanians voted for this, and I believe that if elections were held today, they would penalize this behavior," said Diana Buzoianu on Wednesday evening on B1 TV.
