Ciprian Ciucu, first vice president of PNL, stated on Digi 24 that his party will not collaborate with PSD, regardless of its leadership, emphasizing that PSD-ism represents a "disease" that affects governance. He criticized the way social democrats conduct politics, accusing them of extracting resources for personal interests. Ciucu stated that PSD must take responsibility for governance, but not within a collaboration with the liberals. He also acknowledged that PNL needs reform, but emphasized that the current direction of PSD is opposed to PNL's values, accusing them of populism. Ciucu concluded that an internal reform of PSD is necessary, but that it will take time.

"PSD must come and say this: we are afraid to govern in the upcoming period, just as we were afraid to take on governance 10 months ago, or we are not afraid, we want to govern, but we cannot form a majority. Then we can say: ok, we will see what solutions we, the liberals, can find, but not with PSD. Not with PSD because PSD-ism is a disease that manifests very harmfully in governance. It is a governance of resource extraction for personal interests, their way of doing politics today - not that we would be perfect, to be very clear, we also have our problems within PNL and I am not ashamed to acknowledge it, it is better to recognize it - but we do not compare ourselves. I mean, with this kind of politics that always shies away from responsibility and does politics only for their own privileges and positions, we are fed up. At least I am not for that in politics and I have not gotten rich from politics, nor has Ilie Bolojan," said Ciprian Ciucu.
