AI-generated portraits are becoming increasingly popular among candidates, providing professional photographs in just a few minutes and at low costs. Platforms like Canva and dedicated services like InstaHeadshots and HeadshotPro allow for realistic images to be obtained for under 50 dollars.

Melanie Fan from Plush has noticed a significant increase in recruitment messages on LinkedIn after using an AI portrait. Research shows that 88% of candidates believe that a well-made image influences hiring decisions. However, there are concerns about authenticity, and some recruiters warn that photos that appear fake can affect hiring chances. LinkedIn has emphasized that images should reflect the true likeness of the user.

Although these tools democratize access to professional images, they raise dilemmas between accessibility and authenticity, especially in the context where young people rapidly adopt these technologies.

Nicușor Dan, reaction after the Recorder documentary: "The easiest thing is to revolt, once again, and to throw the blame generically. It is much harder to actually solve the problems in justice. There must also be an assumption within the profession."
