The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced the detention of an 18-year-old young man from Kiev, suspected of collaborating with Russia in coordinating a major airstrike on the Ukrainian capital on the night of May 24.
The young man was detained the day after the bombing, while conducting reconnaissance near the Ministry of Defense. Investigators claim that he intended to transmit information about the attacks directly to his contacts in Russia, having been recruited by Russian services after seeking "easy money" on Telegram channels. After recruitment, he monitored areas on the outskirts of Kiev and marked on Google Maps the routes used by Ukrainian military equipment.
SBU documented his activities, including visits near the Ministry of Defense to assess the damage. During searches, a mobile phone was confiscated with detailed reports for the Russian side. The young man is accused of high treason under martial law and risks life imprisonment, as well as the confiscation of property.
