The protests in Iran, triggered by the economic crisis, have entered their tenth day, with at least 36 deaths and over 1,200 reported arrests. Security forces intervened with tear gas in Tehran, especially in the grand bazaar, where demonstrators organized a sit-in. The Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated that "rioters must be dealt with," refusing dialogue with the protesters. The economic situation is worsening, and the national currency, the rial, has reached a historic low. The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, acknowledged that the government cannot manage the crisis alone. The current protests, although significant, have not reached the scale of those in 2022-2023, when the uprising occurred after the death of Mahsa Amini.
