More than a million people have been evacuated from eastern China, including Shanghai, where nearly 1,000 flights have been canceled due to Typhoon Dolphin. Although it has been downgraded to a tropical storm by Chinese authorities, the risk of heavy rain and severe flooding remains high until Wednesday.

The typhoon brought winds of up to 150 km/h and caused significant damage, including flooding in popular areas of Shanghai.

Meteorologists are forecasting heavy rains in several provinces, and authorities have opened emergency shelters for those evacuated.

In the Philippines, the typhoon has caused the deaths of eight people and led to the evacuation of over 7,000 individuals. Misinformation related to the storm has resulted in the detention of two people for distributing false content. The typhoon season in the Western Pacific is affected by a strong El Niño year, which can intensify storms.
