The Prosecutor's Office in Croatia has charged two men suspected of selling over a million counterfeit COVID-19 tests in several European countries. The two, a former member of Parliament and his 26-year-old son, are alleged to have imported approximately 1.3 million tests from a factory in Istanbul, Turkey, and resold them to companies and public institutions in Croatia, Greece, Romania, Austria, Spain, and Germany.

Charged with drug counterfeiting, they are suspected of having obtained nearly 450,000 euros from this illegal activity. The son is also accused of money laundering. Their identities have not been officially confirmed, but local media suggest they are Andjelko Mihalic and his son, Filip. The two were temporarily arrested in January as part of a broader investigation.
