Prahova Court: Arrest warrants for four people from a medical clinic in Ploiești. Charges of embezzlement with a damage of 2.4 million lei

The Prahova Tribunal approved the preventive arrest of four representatives of a medical clinic in Ploiești, involved in a case of fraud with an estimated damage of 2.4 million lei.

DIICOT discovered that, starting from January 2025, an organized criminal group, led by a specialist doctor, was reimbursing fictitious medical services from the Prahova Health Insurance House.

The charges include the establishment of a criminal group, computer fraud, and fraud. The acts were carried out by entering false data into the clinic's computer system, and the doctors were rewarded with bonuses for participating in the illegal activities.

Following the searches, health cards, documents, and equipment used in the criminal activity were confiscated. The total damage caused to the health insurance system amounts to approximately 2.415 million lei.
