A female doctor accused of receiving money and goods from patients or their relatives has been sent to trial by prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sibiu Tribunal. The indictment was finalized on October 8, 2026, and submitted to the Sibiu Tribunal together with the case file.

According to prosecutors, the alleged acts were committed between February and August 2024 in connection with the provision of medical care. The doctor allegedly received various sums of money and goods from patients or their relatives.

Previously, in 2024, the doctor had been placed in preventive detention for 30 days, being suspected of taking bribes from patients. The sums mentioned at the time ranged from 100 to 200 lei.

The completion of the criminal investigation and the referral of the case to court represent a procedural stage, and the allegations will be examined by the Sibiu Tribunal. Until a final ruling is issued, the doctor benefits from the presumption of innocence.
