Two military surgeon doctors from the Constanța Hospital have been placed under judicial control by DNA prosecutors for taking bribes in a continuous form.

The military prosecutors from the DNA announced the initiation of criminal proceedings and the imposition of judicial control measures for the defendants Ghiță Constantin and Minea Laurențiu Marian, military surgeon doctors at the 'Dr. Alexandru Gafencu' Emergency Military Hospital in Constanța, accused of receiving bribes in a continuous form.

Ghiță Constantin is accused of 35 acts of bribery, while Minea Laurențiu Marian is accused of eight acts. Both are required to post a bail of 500,000 lei. Searches conducted at their homes led to the discovery of unjustified sums of money. Between July 27 and September 1, 2026, Ghiță allegedly received bribes from 35 patients, while Minea received bribes from eight patients, in connection with surgical interventions and consultations.

The defendants must comply with specific obligations during the judicial control, and any violation of these may lead to preventive detention. The DNA continues the investigation and is looking into other individuals involved.
