Donald Trump launched harsh criticisms against comedy shows, especially Stephen Colbert's show on CBS, which he called a "pathetic disaster." In a message on his Truth Social platform, Trump demanded that the show be canceled immediately, suggesting that television should review the licenses of channels that broadcast negative content about him and the Republican Party.

CBS has already announced that Colbert's show will no longer be aired from May. Trump accused television channels of anti-conservative bias and appointed a close politician, Brendan Carr, to lead the FCC, insinuating that the agency could act according to the political priorities of the White House. His criticisms have sparked accusations of censorship from opponents.
