Trump could no longer be heard at his own press conference after television stations stopped broadcasting him

U.S. President Donald Trump could no longer be heard during a ceremony held on the South Lawn of the White House after the major television networks stopped providing the shared feed of presidential events. Footage filmed by the White House did not clearly capture his remarks, and the broadcast featured mostly the noise of a helicopter nearby.

The incident occurred during the inauguration of a new heliport, before Trump departed for New York aboard Marine One. Newsmax flagged the problem, while C-SPAN announced that it would not broadcast the recording separately because it usually relies on the press pool’s video and audio feed.

The pool consists of approximately 20 journalists and provides the press with shared access to images and sound. Five networks — ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC — take turns broadcasting these materials.

The crisis began after Trump barred CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House, accusing them of “fake news.” The three outlets filed a lawsuit, citing the First Amendment, while ABC, CBS, Fox News, and NBC subsequently boycotted the shared feed system. The White House maintains that access is a privilege, not a right.
