President Donald Trump has announced that he will meet Vladimir Putin, without making the meeting conditional on a prior discussion with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski. This change of position came after a White House official initially said that Trump would meet Putin only if Putin agreed to meet Zelenski. Trump expressed disappointment over Russia's attacks on Ukraine and emphasized that he would do everything possible to stop the violence. The Kremlin confirmed plans for the meeting, but rejected the idea of a meeting with Zelenski in the near future.
