Located in the south of the Gaza Strip, the Rafah border crossing will remain closed until Wednesday inclusive, according to Israeli official sources. Although the resumption of humanitarian aid entry was planned for Tuesday, Hamas did not fulfill its commitment to hand over the lifeless bodies of all deceased Israeli hostages. This situation has led Israel to impose 'sanction' measures on the Palestinian Islamist group, with which it recently agreed to a ceasefire and a peace plan. According to the agreement, Hamas was supposed to hand over 28 deceased hostages, after the last 20 survivors had already been transferred to Israel. The restrictions at Rafah have not been officially announced by the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or by Israeli security institutions.
