In a letter addressed to the Qassam Brigades of Hamas, the Houthi rebels stated that their attacks have ceased, but warned that they will resume military operations against Israel if the ceasefire is not respected. Major General Yusuf Hassan al-Madani, the chief of staff of the Houthi army, emphasized that they are closely monitoring the situation and will reinstate the ban on Israeli navigation in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea in the event that Israel resumes its attacks.
Since the beginning of the ceasefire in Gaza on October 10, the Houthi rebels have not claimed any attacks, although they have caused significant damage in the Red Sea, affecting international trade. Their attacks have led to the deaths of at least nine sailors and the sinking of four ships, severely disrupting maritime transport and generating considerable economic losses for Egypt and global trade.
