The Nevski District Court in St. Petersburg sentenced Alexander Glushkin, a school guard, to five years in prison for publishing false news about the Russian army, particularly regarding the crimes in the Ukrainian city of Bucha. The prosecution had requested a seven-year sentence. Glushkin partially admitted guilt, stating that the information was sent to him by an unknown person, but claimed he did not know if it was false. Russian authorities continue to deny the army's involvement in the crimes in Bucha, and similar cases have led to numerous convictions in Russia.
