The countries in the European Union are working on an unprecedented program for Ukraine, providing it with extensive short-term benefits, in the context where the accelerated accession plans have been rejected. Ukraine's ambassador to the EU, Vsevolod Chentsov, emphasized that the priority remains full accession, but quick measures for Ukraine's integration are expected. The 'pre-accession' offer includes broader access to EU markets and deeper participation in the programs and institutions of the bloc. France and Germany are among the countries that support these measures, but not the idea of rapid accession. Ukraine desires a phased access to the single market, linked to the progress of reforms, and the inclusion of its enterprises in the Commission's strategic dialogues. The accession process is a long one, but Ukraine could advance in negotiations, especially after the electoral defeat of Viktor Orbán, which was a major obstacle.
