A violent storm and an avalanche have caused the death of nine people in Nepal, including five Italian climbers and one Frenchman, according to local authorities. On Monday, an avalanche caught 12 people in a camp on Yalung Ri, a peak of 5,630 meters, resulting in seven deaths, including three Italians, one German, one Frenchman, and two Nepalese. Additionally, in western Nepal, two Italian climbers died due to heavy snowfall while climbing Panbari Peak, and a third person was rescued. Autumn expeditions in the Himalayas are less frequent due to difficult weather conditions and unstable terrain, and the recent Montha cyclone has brought heavy precipitation, trapping tourists on mountain routes.
