A Russian drone hit the locomotive of a passenger train traveling from Kyiv to Warsaw on Sunday morning, approximately two kilometers from the border between Ukraine and Poland, in the Volyn region. The attack took place near the Yahodyn–Dorohusk crossing.
Ukraine’s state railway operator confirmed the incident and said the train crew had been warned in advance by the authorities. No one was injured in the strike.
Drones also attacked the border crossing area. Images posted on social media captured a major fire at a nearby gas station, but local media reported no casualties. Poland’s Border Guard later announced that the Dorohusk crossing was operational and that traffic between the two countries was proceeding normally.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the attacks and said Russia is “knocking directly on the doors of the EU and NATO.” The incident comes amid warnings about an intensification of hybrid warfare and pressure on European borders.
