At least 13 people were killed, while other passengers were injured after a Russian drone struck a passenger train on the platform of the main railway station in Dnipro, in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, on Thursday. The attack took place while the train was preparing to depart for Zaporizhzhia.
According to Ukrainian Railways, the drone, described as a new-generation model, struck one of the platforms near train number 866, Dnipro-Zaporizhzhia. The company said that an air-raid alert had been issued, but several people were still on the platform. Rescue teams and emergency services responded at the scene.
Zelensky called the attack “horrific” and urged the European Union, the United States, and the G7 to adopt tougher sanctions against Russia.
