Starlink, the internet company owned by Elon Musk, has announced that it will provide free high-speed internet services to the population of Venezuela until February 3. This decision comes in the wake of the American operation that led to the removal of President Nicolás Maduro. Starlink provides mobile internet through a network of satellites in orbit, committing to ensure "continuous connectivity" in Venezuela, a country known for online censorship, where the Maduro government has previously blocked access to platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Data from Netblocks showed a sudden loss of connectivity in Caracas, coinciding with power outages during the American military operation.
