The airline company Wizz Air has announced that, starting in 2027, it will implement internet services on board through Starlink, the company owned by Elon Musk. This will be the first low-cost airline in Europe to bring advanced connectivity technology in-flight for millions of passengers. Ian Malin, Chief Commercial Officer of Wizz Air, emphasized that the company's goal is to make the flying experience accessible without compromising internet access.
Passengers will benefit from reliable, high-speed internet at altitudes of over 9,000 meters, transforming the time spent in flight from offline to online. All of Wizz Air's new generation aircraft will be equipped with Starlink, ensuring a consistent experience regardless of the destination. Jason Fritch, Vice President of Starlink Enterprise Sales, expressed excitement for this collaboration, highlighting the importance of connectivity for passengers and crews.
