Stanford University has decided to abolish 363 positions as a result of budget cuts imposed by the Trump administration targeting universities perceived as too progressive. The institution must reduce its budget by $140 million for the coming year. It joins other major universities, such as Harvard and Columbia, which have implemented cuts. Stanford's leadership emphasized that these measures are necessary because of changes in federal policy affecting higher education. The brain drain from the US is anticipated, with other countries, such as France, keen to attract students and researchers.
