Federal Judge Richard G. Stearns has ruled that the Trump administration did not demonstrate a continuous violation of civil rights in the case of Harvard University, following a lawsuit filed in March 2025.

This was based on isolated incidents from the 2023-2024 academic year, in the context of pro-Palestinian protests following the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023. The Trump administration accused the university of failing to protect Jewish students from harassment and intimidation, but Harvard rejected these accusations, highlighting the measures taken to combat antisemitism. The lawsuit also aimed at recovering federal funds, and the Department of Justice is considering the possibility of new legal actions.

This is just one of many legal confrontations between the Trump administration and Harvard, which has recently achieved other victories in court.
