The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, will participate in the ceremonies in Beijing, where he will meet with the leaders of China and Russia, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin. Fico, criticized for the tense relations with Ukraine and for his opposition to Western sanctions, is the only EU leader present at the event. He emphasized the importance of building a new world order and will also discuss with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in eastern Slovakia. Fico expressed regret that Slovakia is the only EU country at these ceremonies, highlighting a distancing from European allies.
