The Iași Court of Appeal has decided that a young student, originally from Gaza, was involved in online propaganda activities in favor of the terrorist group Hamas. Although he has been in Romania since 2020, where he studies at the 'Gheorghe Asachi' Technical University and works legally, his request for an extension of stay and his asylum application were rejected by the County Inspectorate for Immigration in Iași.

The young man tried to contest the decision in court, but without success, now being obliged to leave the country and give up his studies. He was working at a fishery and had a small online business selling perfumes, raising money for his parents, who suffered as a result of the bombings in Gaza, in the context of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
