German prosecutors have indicted seven suspected Hamas members for preparing attacks against Jewish and pro-Israel targets

German prosecutors have indicted seven suspected Hamas members, arrested between October and May, for allegedly preparing attacks in Germany and Austria against Jewish and pro-Israel individuals. The indictment was filed on Tuesday by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office with the Higher Regional Court in Berlin.

The suspects are two German nationals, three Lebanese nationals, one Bulgarian and one Dane. They are accused of belonging to a foreign terrorist organization, preparing a serious act of violence endangering the state, and violating weapons laws.

According to prosecutors, Hamas allegedly planned the attacks starting in July 2025, around the time of the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023 attack. The intended targets were reportedly representatives of Israel, people of the Jewish faith, or individuals with pro-Israel views.

At the time of the first arrests, in October, the group had allegedly acquired an automatic rifle, 13 pistols and more than 700 rounds of ammunition. Hamas denied any connection with three of the suspects at the time. Another alleged accomplice, arrested in London in November, is being prosecuted separately. He allegedly brought some of the weapons into Vienna and produced a video claiming responsibility.
