Six Romanian citizens, aged between 20 and 47, will appear on Monday, October 12, 2026, before the Dessau-Roßlau Regional Court in Germany. The public prosecutor’s office accuses them of 29 residential burglaries and aggravated thefts committed as part of an organized group, with the total damage, including damage caused while breaking into the properties, estimated at approximately 250,000 euros.
According to investigators, the offenses are alleged to have been committed between March 2025 and March 2026 in several German states. The suspects allegedly targeted mainly detached houses in the Wittenberg region, as well as residences in Brandenburg, Saxony, and Thuringia, from which they allegedly stole money and jewelry.
The investigation began with a broader series that included 87 burglaries investigated in the Wittenberg district and other offenses along the A9 motorway. Initially, police were tracking 13 Romanian citizens.
On March 10, 2026, searches conducted in Berlin, Leipzig, and Halle led to the seizure of sums of money, jewelry, telephones, keys, license plates, Porsche and Audi cars, as well as firearms. The six defendants have been in pretrial detention since March, and further hearings are scheduled through November 27.
