The young man who assaulted a delivery worker from Bangladesh in 2025, detained by DIICOT for terrorist threats

Cosmin Tudoran, the young man who last year struck a delivery driver from Bangladesh on a street in Bucharest, was detained on Wednesday by DIICOT for continued terrorist threats. According to prosecutors, starting in October 2025, he allegedly published messages threatening people belonging to ethnic and religious minorities and allegedly threatened to destroy a place of worship in the capital, motivated by religious and ideological reasons.

Prosecutors are expected to ask the Bucharest Court of Appeal to order 30 days of preventive detention. Tudoran had been sentenced by the court of first instance in September to a suspended sentence for assaulting the delivery driver.
