Ukraine has accepted a modified peace agreement, according to some American officials, following negotiations with the United States. Although the minor details of the agreement still need to be resolved, sources have confirmed that the Ukrainians have accepted the terms. This statement from the U.S. exceeds the public position of Ukrainian officials who are participating in discussions in Abu Dhabi. Russia, on the other hand, has announced that it will reject the changes made to the initially agreed plan between the U.S. and Russia.
The U.S. Secretary of the Army, Dan Driscoll, had secret discussions with a Russian delegation, and Ukraine's National Security Secretary, Rustem Umerov, mentioned that the delegations reached a common agreement on the essential terms. Ukraine is awaiting support from European partners and a visit from President Zelensky to the U.S. to finalize the agreement with Donald Trump.
