Buildings in the prison complex were destroyed and nearby homes were damaged. President Zelenski's chief of staff denounced the attack as a "new war crime", calling for economic and military measures against the Putin regime. Zaporozhe, partly occupied by Russia, is one of the regions unilaterally annexed by Moscow.
