Russia summoned the ambassadors of France and the United Kingdom to deliver an official protest following the Ukrainian attack on February 16, when Storm Shadow missiles struck an electronics components factory in the Bryansk province, resulting in seven deaths and approximately 40 injuries. The Russian Foreign Ministry accused London and Paris of complicity, stating that the attack would not have been possible without the support of British and French specialists.
Russia described the incident as a "deliberate provocation" aimed at undermining efforts for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, in the context of which the United States proposed a new round of negotiations. Additionally, Russia called on France and the United Kingdom to firmly condemn the attack, even though the missiles used were supplied by these countries to Ukraine as part of military aid. The Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles, with a range of 550 kilometers, are launched from modified Russian aircraft with the help of specialists from both countries.
