Russia warned on Thursday that it could strike British military targets both inside and outside Ukraine, in response to Ukrainian attacks on targets within Russia using British long-range cruise missiles.
The warning, delivered by the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, at a press conference, had been made previously but without such a forceful rhetoric or sense of urgency.
Western analysts stated that the severity of Moscow's warning reflects Russia's anger over Britain's decision - made public on Monday - to allow Kyiv access to classified technology to begin its own production of Storm Shadow cruise missiles, capable of launching deep strikes into Russian territory.
