Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected the proposal from American leader Donald Trump to cease fire in Ukraine by stopping troops at their current positions. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia's position remains constant and the military strategy will not change.

Trump suggested, following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, that both sides should stop where they are now, as a first step towards peace negotiations. Peskov emphasized that Russia will not accept a halt to the conflict without fulfilling the objectives set by the Kremlin. He also confirmed that there are discussions between Russian and American experts regarding possible transfers of Tomahawk missiles from the U.S. to Ukraine, but Russia relies only on public statements for information.
