Prosecutor Radu George Bucurica was placed in preventive detention after causing a scandal in a venue

The High Court of Cassation and Justice decided preventive arrest of prosecutor Radu George Bucurica, from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Caraș Severin Tribunal, accused of entering an establishment armed and causing a scandal.

The incident occurred on August 9, and the prosecutor was detained after being involved in an altercation with the police, having a pistol, a knife, and a tear gas spray on him.

Although the Alba Iulia Court of Appeal initially rejected the arrest proposal, the High Court decided that there are sufficient grounds for arrest, considering the charges of assault and disturbing public order. Radu Bucurica, who had his weapon carrying permit revoked, has been suspended from office by the Superior Council of Magistracy, and his case is the subject of a disciplinary investigation.
